GUARDIA CIVIL DETAIN ILLEGAL FISHING BOAT OFF LA GOMERA

Guardia Civil officers from the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) possess apprehended a fishing boat off the Gomeran coast, using banned illegal apparatus.

They seized two large angling pots, five shrimp pots, 3 shellfish pots, and 65 kgs of fish that were illegally captured by the boat.

Inside a joint operation with the Provincial Ocean going Service and Fisheries Inspectors, Seprona agents followed a tracking gadget on the vessel, suspected of angling with illegal equipment, as it arrived to port at Playa Santiago.
In port, an examination was carried out on the boat to confirm plus confiscate the illegal gear which the fishermen had set in the Gomera coast.
