EXHIBITIONS IN SPAIN
The exhibition is one of the largest monographic exhibitions on Wassily Kandinsky that has ever been held in Spain.
The exhibition features some of his masterpieces (like paintings, watercolours and engravings) from the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It aims to explore the Russian painter’s entire oeuvre. It covers the key periods in Kandinsky’s life, from his first years in Germany, including his time in Russia, to his stay in France. There are essential works such as “Alte Stadt II” (1902), “Lied” (1906), “Improvisation III” (1909), “Im Grau” (1919), “Gelb-Rot-Blau” (1925) and “Bleu de ciel” (1940). This exhibition is being held in Madrid almost 150 years after Kandinsky was born (1866-1944). The painter is considered to be a pioneer of abstract art and one of the most outstanding avant-garde painters of all time.
