BASCUÑANA ASKS FOR AVE STOP IN ORIHUELA

The mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, met Ana Pastor last week, the acting Minister of Development in the temporary National Government when she briefly stopped off at Orihuela’s Miguel Hernandez train station during her visit to the section of high speed rail works between Orihuela and Beniel.

During their short meeting the mayor said that the city were extremely keen that, once the high speed link is established between Murcia and Madrid, the Miguel Hernandez station in Orihuela be added to the list of stops.

He said that this would be an extremely important advancement for the city which would lead to increased visitor numbers and tourism in the area. The link would reduce the travelling time between Orihuela and Madrid to just 2 hours.
