TORREVIEJA BEACH FOR DOGS BY SUMMER

The local government of Torrevieja has modified bylaws to enable dogs on the beaches of the town.

The government spokesperson, Fanny Serrano, reported that in a meeting on Friday that as part of their commitment to continue to “order and update” local legislation, they had approved the draft amendment of the beach laws so that an area where dogs are permitted can be created.

Serrano explained all of the points from the meeting including the unanimous vote update the beach laws, described as the “first step” in creating a dog-friendly area where animals can enjoy the beach so long as they are accompanied by their owners and kept under control.

It is hoped that following the agreement, the steps can now continue to allow for the creation of the dog zone by meeting all of the legal requirement before this summer season.
