OVER a hundred people gathered at La Camella’ s Camel Park last Sunday, to join in the Hoedown fun on the first-ever charity event, organised simply by Happy2Help, which aids the destitute throughout Tenerife.
An incredible team, headed by Stephanie Tudge, organised a delicious BBQ, along with live entertainment and a raffle, increasing a superb sum of 2, 327 pounds, on the day.
Steve Fawkes proved to be a superb MC for the mid-day, supported by many local entertainers, organized by Ginny Garcia and Angela Mowberry, who gave their period, free of charge. Needless to say, Julie Moss, Michaela Bridges, Stacey Tippett, Michelle plus Brenda Minty were all within top form, getting everyone upward dancing.
The children liked free camel rides, as well as face-painting and an extremely-entertaining magician, each supplied, generously, by Keddy’ h Entertainment.
The Venezuelan cooking team, comprising Jenny, Orsman, Ara and Luis, served upward quality hamburgers, hotdogs and pig chops, supplied by Jean Pierre, from the Meat Boutique, at a special price, with various salads. And the group worked extremely hard to keep everyone given!
The bar, organized by Manhattan’ s Bar’ ersus Julie Moss, in conjunction with One Prevent, proved a roaring success, plus, as the afternoon went on, more items were required… and were provided!
To top the morning off, the Arona Las Galletas Costa del Silencio Lions Membership also presented the charity using a cheque for a further 3, 1000 euros, making a grand total during the day of 5, 327 euros.
Of course , none of this would happen to be possible without the community coming jointly and digging deep, so a large thank-you to everyone who arrived, and also to the most-generous local companies, who donated prizes for the raffle.
Happy2Help, now in the third year throughout Tenerife, continues to be helping people to help themselves simply by collecting and distributing much-needed clothing, bedding, household items, furniture, medications and much more, for those who are without.
